The find location may suggest the brand is a product of James Dougall, Bonnyside Brickworks.
The 3 3/4 appears to represent the diameter of this ‘plug’ at the top of the taper just on the shoulder before the neck.

Found by Reuben Bartolo in a fireplace in Mosta, Malta. Reuben states – The building itself is from the 1500s, I would guess the fireplace is around 1950s. The bricks were between the limestone blocks, behind the fireplace itself.
