These bricks were found by Denis Foulem along the Bathurst harbour seashore, located in the province of New Brunswick in Canada. It is entirely possible that the Darnley Fireclay Works were also manufacturing composite bricks from local shale or blaise waste. This stunning chimney is in the possession of Ian Suddaby and was found in the Falkirk area. It is 4′ 6″ tall. Loudon & Russell, Allanton Fireclay Works, Newmains, Wishaw. . . . . . Below – The same stamp but this one was ‘broken’ before firing and repaired which has led to duplicate letters.

These bricks were found by Guillaume Girard on the banks of the Ottawa River near to Parliament Hill, Ottawa, Canada. Other brickmarks found nearby were “T Carr” from the NE of England and a brick stamped “National” which may well have Canadian or American origins.
