Found by Ian Suddaby at the Manuel Works, Whitecross.
This example is not in my possession.
The manufacturer is unknown but it is highly likely this was manufactured by Alexander Bald at the Alloa Brick & Tile Works, Alloa, Clackmannanshire.
The scalloped corners of the frog and the size and style of the lettering all point to Mr Bald.

Found by Andrew Wood in the Fife area. ‘Compo’ may stand for composition. It is assumed this was manufactured by James Dougall & Sons Ltd. James Dougall & Sons Ltd, Bonnybridge, Stirlingshire. Alternative brickworks include: Bonnyside Brickworks, Bonnybridge, Stirlingshire. .
The following bricks are in the possession of Boris Talpa, Rostov on Don, Russia. They were found in the Vladivostok and Primorye area of Eastern Russia. . . Found by Alan Robertson and Nikki Seats in the Alloa area. This is a large special. It is broken on the left-hand side as you see it here. The top edge is ‘stepped’ for the full length of the brick. Alloa Brick and Tile Works, Alloa, Clackmannanshire. . . .

Found on the site of the old Atlas Brickworks, Bathville, West Lothian. Atlas Brickworks, Bathville, Armadale, West Lothian. Compn is an abbreviation for ‘composition’. This brickmark has been lucky to survive as the back of the brick has suffered major damage. Note also the ‘N’ is reversed. .
