Found near Morpeth, Northumbria by BW.
Unidentified maker but I do believe that the bauxitic clay will have been mined by the Ayrshire Bauxitic Clay Company. The best quality of this clay was sent to a subsidiary, namely Henry Foster at the Hotspur Brickworks in Backworth near Newcastle.
The find location would suggest this may be a brick manufactured with Scottish clay at the Hotspur Works, Northumbria, England.
