8th April 1919 – Edinburgh Gazette – The firm of Blackadder Brothers, carrying on business as engineers and foundry plant manufacturers at Garrison Foundry and Engine Works, Falkirk, and as motor engineers at Garrison Garage, Falkirk, of which the Subscribers Thomas Blackadder, Archibald Cowie Blackadder, and Robert Blackadder were the sole partners, has been dissolved, as at 31st March 1919, by mutual consent. The business of engineers and foundry plant manufacturers will continue to be carried on by the subscribers Thomas Blackadder and Robert Blackadder on their own account, and under the same name of Blackadder Brothers, at Garrison Foundry and Engine Works, Falkirk, and they are authorised to uplift all the debts due to, and they will discharge the whole debts and liabilities of, the firm in connection with the engineering and foundry plant manufacturing part of the business. The business of motor engineers will continue to be carried on by the subscriber Archibald Cowie Blackadder on his own account and under the name of Blackadder Motor Company, at Garrison Garage, Falkirk, and he is authorised to uplift all the debts due to, and he will discharge the whole debts and liabilities of, the firm, in connection with the motor engineering part of the business. John Ainslie was a farmer from Redheugh, Nr Dalkeith Scotland. in the 1840’s he invented and patented brick and tile making machines.
