30/06/1882 – Glasgow Herald – At brickwork, Cartyne Quarry on Monday 10th July at 12 noon. The public sale of a horizontal steam engine with flywheel, gearing and shafting. Steam boiler by Thomas Ferguson & Son; brick and slated erection, square stalk, clay grinding pan mill with connections; 10 brick barrows, 20 kiln boards, brick moulding table, 136 furnace bars and plates, double brick drying stove and all articles enumerated in the schedule.
