(Note – SBH –  Robert Jamieson has carried out some research and states – Coalheughglen Farm is in the hamlet of Highfield, between Beith and Dalry. The farm was part of the Barony of Kersland, and nearby was the Kersland pit and quarry. This could be the source of the Kersland bricks. It is only a short distance from the Carsehead brickworks.)
