The following Scottish bricks were found in Townsville, Queensland, Australia by Michelle Jonker. Michelle states – We live in Townsville, Australia. We recently bought a Queenslander house, that is from the 1920s. A lot of the houses here were brought from Charters Towers after the gold rush ended. Below – ‘Glenboig 30’ with possible thumbprint…

Found by Eddie McLean in the Glasgow area. This may be an ‘O’ or a ‘0’. The ‘A’ is also uncertain. Gartcosh Fireclay Works, Gartcosh, Glasgow. . .

Found by Eddie McLean in the Glasgow area. Unidentified maker but find location would suggest Scottish origins. The stamp ‘W8’ has been found on Glenboig and Gartcosh bricks. Glenboig Union Fireclay Works owned the Gartcosh Fire Brick Works at one point. Gartcosh Fireclay Works, Gartcosh, Glasgow. Glenboig Union Fireclay Company, Glenboig, Lanarkshire.
