— 17/09/2023Found by John Lowe in Long Island, New York State, USA. J & M Craig, Perceton Fireclay Works, Dreghorn, Ayrshire. . . . .
Found in a field at Muirhouses Farm next to the old Perceton Fire Clay Works, Perceton
It has either been made as exactly the way we see it or it has been spherical and halved exactly down the middle by some means or another.
It could be a piece of kiln furniture?
It is not stamped.
However due to its very close proximity to the Perceton Fire Clay Works then I will assume it was manufactured there until proven otherwise.
It measures 2 3/4″ in diameter and is 1 1/2″ high.
