It is entirely possible that the Lambhill Brickworks, Lambhill, Glasgow were then renamed the Possil Brickworks.

Lanark, and of Peter Weir and James Weir, contractors, brickmakers and builders at Airdrie and Lambhill aforesaid, the individual partners of said Company of Peter & James Weir, as partners thereof, and as individuals. Lanark, and of Peter Weir and James Weir, Contractors, Brickmakers, and Builders at Airdrie and Lambhill aforesaid, the Individual Partners of said Company of Peter & James Weir, as Partners thereof, and as Individuals. By virtue of an Order of the Sheriff-Substitute of Lanarkshire at Airdrie, Intimation is hereby given that Peter Weir and James Weir, Contractors, Brickmakers, and Builders at Airdrie, and at Lambhill, near Glasgow, in the County of Lanark, as a Company, and Peter Weir, sometime Contractor, Brickmaker, and Builder at Airdrie and Lambhill aforesaid, now residing in Glasgow, one of the Individual Partners of said Firm, as such Partner, and as an Individual, have presented a Petition to the Sheriff of Lanarkshire, to be finally discharged of all debts contracted by them and him before the date of the Sequestration of their Estates, in terms of the Statute; the said James Weir, the other Individual Partner, having been already discharged. Below – 25/03/1949 – Brick glut hits works – A million and a quarter bricks lying unwanted at a local brickwork and production held up through lack of a market is the sorry state of the brick trade in the West of Scotland. Blackhill Works, Glasgow have closed down. Lambhill Works have almost closed down and the Bishopbriggs Works have only one shift operating while in the Motherwell area, Holytown Brickworks with a working strength of 40 has been forced to pay off 15 workers.
