Probably of late 18th-century date. It measures 18 ft 6 ins square over 2ft 6ins thick walls. Now roofless, it stands 17ft 6ins high.
2015 – Square brick roofless. One wall badly damaged. Some internal damage (Historic Environment Scotland List Entry) Decorative string courses at about door height and at roof level.
It is quite possible that the bricks were made at the nearby. Boquhan Tileworks (Kippen Station).
