Below – The same stamp on a darker brick found at the Armitage Shanks site, Barrhead, Glasgow
Below – The same stamp on a much wider and slightly longer brick found at Carberry Colliery, East Lothian and kindly donated by Nick Basden. This was found alongside a brick stamped ‘Scotia F.W & Co‘. This brick is 3 1/2″ wide whereas the ones above are 2 3/4″ wide.

All the bricks present were fire bricks and included English manufacturers such as Ruffors of Stourbridge, Cowen of Newcastle and Duddell of Fenton. 90% of the bricks present appear to have been stamped ‘Glenboig’….
