Otterden Tilework, Maybole, South Ayrshire
01/08/1844 – Ayr Advertiser – Otterden Tilework – A machine of the most approved construction is now in operation at this work, and draining tiles of the best quality may be had at the following cash prices:-
Common tiles – 14 inches long at 20s per 1000.
Main drain tile – 14 inches long at 40s per 1000.
and all other tiles and soles in proportion. Brick and flooring tiles as usual. Otterden 29/07/1844.
1855 – 1857 – ScotlandsPlaces – Otterden Tileworks. A small kiln & sheds with the necessary apparatus used in the manufacture of tile. Now in disuse.
