Found at an unknown location in Scotland and kindly donated by Nick Basden. Sanquhar Brick and Tile Works, Sanquhar, Dumfriesshire. This is a miniature baby brick. It is also a ‘stop end’ brick. . . . . Below – A similar sized brick without the ‘stop end’. This was found by Joan Faithfull.

Found in the Kilmarnock, Ayrshire area. This is a baby fire brick. The following information is supplied by Vladimir Smirnov – This is a Soviet brick ШД means schamotten i.e. firebrick. Found by Andrew Gemmell in the Milngavie, Glasgow area. This is in theory an unidentified manufacturer but I do believe it is Scottish. These were found at the Broomhill brickworks, Bonnybridge Bay bricks were made on site and I have no reason to believe that these were made elsewhere. They are however not marked. See this link site history . . .
