“There is an old sugar mill in southern Mauritius (Bel Ombre) which has been redeveloped as a small shopping mall.

A nice touch is that they have used some of the original mill’s bricks as paving in the new centre.”

Below – Elgin and Elgin HD – I have not seen this brickmark before but the brickmark suggests Scottish origins but more likely they were manufactured by Elgin Fireclay Ltd, Springs, South Africa.
