3 – A sheep dipper. This is lying upside down. It would have been dug into the ground. The ramp down will be grooved to allow grip. The sheep would enter 1 at a time, down the ramp and into the water and dip. It would be shoved under the water to ensure full body contact with the dip and then allowed back out the way it entered. The dip is to protect the sheep from parasites such as lice, ticks and blowfly.
The ramp measures approx 6′ 3″ long and this leads down into a 27″ long x 25″ wide x 33″ high dipping bath. There is a hole (The bung is missing) to allow the dipper to be drained when required.
